Holli Spaulding is the newest associate to join Mahan Law, bringing proven courtroom advocacy and a strong business and finance foundation to the firm’s veterinary law practice.

Prior to joining Mahan Law, Holli served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Northern Kentucky, where she secured hundreds of convictions in felony and misdemeanor cases through effective plea negotiations and jury trials. This prosecutorial experience strengthened her ability to advocate persuasively and handle high-stakes matters, skills she will bring to Mahan Law to effectively represent veterinary practices and professionals in disputes, administrative hearings, and civil litigation.

Holli graduated summa cum laude from the University of San Diego’s business school, where she earned awards for academic excellence in Finance. She gained valuable experience working in compliance departments for emerging companies, where she identified operational weaknesses and implemented solutions to improve efficiency. This background aligns well with Mahan Law’s role in providing in-house counsel services and supporting the business operations of veterinary practices.

Holli began her legal career at a prominent regional law firm in the Government Services practice group. This experience strengthened her ability to provide practical, ongoing legal support to organizational clients, a skill set that directly supports Mahan Law’s work as outside general counsel for veterinary practices and businesses. She earned her J.D. from Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law, graduating in the top of her class while serving as Executive Editor of the Northern Kentucky Law Review and winning multiple CALI awards.

A Cincinnati native, Holli began working at her family’s law firm while in high school and always knew she would pursue a legal career. She is a dedicated animal advocate who has volunteered with Trap, Neuter, and Return (TNR) programs and has personally rescued multiple animals, including her five cats. Her passion for animals, combined with her litigation experience, business acumen, and commitment to excellence, make her a strong addition to Mahan Law.

In her free time, Holli enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, watching true crime documentaries, and attending concerts.
